James F. Clark, age 84, a resident of Sanibel Island, Fla., formerly of Geneva, Ohio, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2007, at HealthPark Hospital in Ft. Myers, Fla. Born August 17, 1922, in Ashtabula, Ohio, he was a son of the late Ellen (Mescall) and John Clark. Mr. Clark graduated from Ashtabula High School in the Class of 1940. He then attended Ohio Wesleyan University for two years before enlisting in the U. S. Army, where he served in the Signal Corps. After serving for two years, he returned to Ohio Wesleyan, earning a B.S. in Business Administration in 1946. Mr. Clark was a Prudential Insurance Agent. He also owned and operated Manor Home and Lakeland Nursing Home. He was a member of Geneva First United Methodist Church, where he had served as Chairman of Finance and on the Membership Committee and as an usher. He was a member and past President of Geneva Kiwanis Club; a past board member of the Dunes Golf and Tennis Club of Sanibel Island, Fla.; and also a member of the Dunes Men?s Golf Association. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Thelma Phillips of Sanibel Island, Fla.; a son, Michael (Kathleen Clark of Palm Court, Fla.; three grandchildren, Jeremy Clark, Melanie Newkirk, and Mark Warner; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jack Clark of Tucson, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Jeffrey Clark. Graveside Services will be 11 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2007, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Geneva, Ohio, with the Rev. Charles Oplinger, officiating. Contributions may be made to Geneva First Methodist Church, 89 S.
