George A. Berry, age 78 of Madison, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025 at VA Cleveland Medical Center. He was born April 12, 1947 in Adah, PA, the son of Sylvester P.A. and Maisie (Bailey) Berry.
George served his country in the US Navy and was a member of the Teamsters. He worked for many years and retired from Ferry Cap. He was a member of American Legion Post 601 in Madison and the V.F.W. Post 6846 in Geneva. A loving father and grandfather, George truly loved the time spent with his family. Selfless, he always put the needs of others above his own.
He is survived by his daughters, Paige (Tyler) Gancos, Casi (Christian) Dixon, Kelly Berry; granddaughters, Geneva (Larry McHugh) Berry, Cierra Dixon and Mya Hill; grandsons, C.J. and Ethan Dixon; sisters, Carolyn Draper, Mary Rosen Berger. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald “Tiny” Berry and Erwin Gail Westfall.

I loved “Georgie” so much. He was so fun to be with, especially when he would play wonderful music, on the jukebox, for us at 601, and we would sing like we knew what we were doing! I will miss him terribly. It was an honor to be his friend.
