Genevieve M. (Genny) Burd

Genevieve M. (Genny) Burd, age 89, of Madison passed away Monday, May 4, 2015 at TriPoint Medical Center. She was born January 22, 1926 to John and Mary (nee McDonough) Maher. She married James P. Burd in Uniontown, PA on July 7, 1962. Genny retired from Ohio Bell/ATT after 30 years of dedicated service. She was a member of St. Anne's Anglican Church and Lake County Koinonia-K72. She was a loving mother and friend with a servant's heart. She was an excellent cook, and enjoyed taking care of others, word search puzzles, reading cookbooks, and spending time with her family. She is survived by daughter, Linda (Chuck) Frye of Madison; cousin, Ann Murtha; sister-in-law, Corrine Maher and many nieces and nephews. Genevieve is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, James; her parents; brothers, Jerry, Jimmy, Tommy, Vince; sisters, Esther and Anna. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015 at St. Anne's Anglican Church, meeting at Cornerstone Friends Church, 2300 Hubbard Road, Madison, OH 44057. Pastor Kelly Irish will officiate. There will be a graveside service at Perry Cemetery, Monday, May 18, 2015 at 11a.m. In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions in Genny's name to the St. Anne's Building Fund, 2300 Hubbard Road, Madison, OH 44057.
