Frances Karney

Frances Karney, age 82, of Rock Creek, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born January 23, 1934 in Woodlands, West Virginia to Harvey and Clara (Graham) Holdren. She married her beloved Robert M. Karney on May 6, 1950 in Cleveland. Over the years, Frances worked in several places including the Illuminating Company, Woolworths and as a poll worker. She was class and elegance defined, Frances always carried herself as the beautiful, strong and intelligent woman she was. Frances was known for many great things but the one that stood out, was her kind heart. She had a gift for making peoples lives better. Frances was a scout leader, she loved reading and was quite artistic as well, drawing sketches of beautiful women in elegant dresses. Most of all, she loved children, not only her own, she loved her grandchildren dearly and also shared a special bond with Kim, taking everyone under her loving wings. She truly was an angel in human form. Frances is survived by her son, Robert (Kathy) Karney; grandchildren, Amber and Bobby Karney; great-granddaughter, Natalie Granat; and her brother, Gary (Patty) Holdren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Robert in 2013, by her brother, Floyd Holdren, and by her parents. Friends will be received 4 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 South Broadway, Geneva, Ohio. A Memorial Service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
