Though only a neighbor for several months, l got to know him well. He told me of his life and his knowledge of the local wineries that he liked. His interests in many things and his affection for his sons and friends. I will miss him.

Eugene Paul Snodgrass, age 91 passed away March 11, 2026. Born October 17, 1934 in Virginia, he moved to Painesville with his family, residing there until he moved to Thompson in 1966. He was a graduate of Riverside High School in Painesville. Mr. Snodgrass served four years in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Snodgrass was retired from Ohio Bell Telephone Company in Painesville after 35 years of service in the central office. He dearly loved his family and was dearly loved by them. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Mr. Snodgrass was an avid antique car fan and was one of the founders of the Northeast Ohio Chapter of the Penn Ohio Model “A” Club. He was also very active in his son’s lives. He was a Thompson Little League Coach for many years; he also served as Cub Master for the Thompson Cub Scouts. Mr. Snodgrass was active in youth wrestling in the Ledgemont area and had been a wrestling coach for the Varsity Ledgemont Wrestling Team. He was instrumental in working to get the Ledgemont football field built. He also served on the Ledgemont Board of Education. Mr. Snodgrass was a trustee for the Madison YMCA. His parents, Charles and Ruth Snodgrass are deceased. Mr. Snodgrass is survived by his three sons, Mark Snodgrass, Michael (Alma) Snodgrass and Matthew Snodgrass. He leaves behind his grandchildren, Nicholas, Jacob, Morgan and Casey Snodgrass. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Services for Eugene P. Snodgrass, Age 91 will be 3-6PM Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio. Graveside Service will be the next day, Friday, March 20, 2026, 11am at Perry Cemetery on Center Road.
