Mass of Christian Burial for Bette Clement, age 83, of Chardon, will be 11:00 am, Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Church of St. Mary, 401 North Street, Chardon, Ohio. She passed away July 25, 2010 after battling the disease ALS. She will join her parents, Richard & Anna Maher; her husband, Joseph Clement who died in 1986 and her brother, Richard C. Maher in heaven. She will also be joining several sister & brother-in-laws, Andrew & Diane Clement, William Kandrac and Marge & Joe Bobak. She will be missed by her companion, Joseph Nally; her sister, Patricia Carol Witzberger; brother & sister-in-laws, James Witzberger, Mary Anne Kandrac, Pauline & Richard Wilcox; nephews, Richard (Kit), David (Dori) & Philip (Patricia) Maher and nieces, Ruth (John) Bollman, Kim (Mike ) Miller and Cindie (Mark)Thompson and many great-nieces & nephews who will truly miss their always loving and caring aunt. In her early years she was a professional dancer, fashion and runway TV model predominantly with the Higbee Company, as well as teaching a charm class for girls and interior decorating classes. In her mid-years she established a tap dance line for ladies at Greenwood Village. She moved to Ft. Myers, FL after her husband passed away and established a performing tap dancing troop at Seven Lakes Village as well as decorating for many Seven Lakes events. She volunteered at a center in Immokalee, FL at the Guadalupe Center in the soup kitchen catering to the immigrants who harvest farm crops and oranges. One of Bette?s favorite past times was travelling with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of St. Mary, 401 North Street, Chardon, OH 44024. To all her friends and relatives she says, "Ta Ta for Now". Arrangements are being handled by The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26 River Street, Madison, OH 44057.
