Eleanore A. Mayhew

Eleanore Mayhew, 92, resident of Madison, Ohio, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2008 Lake East Hospital in Painesville, OH. Born May 7, 1916, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Elsie (Smith) & Howard Spangler and married Boyd Nelson Mayhew in Cleveland, Ohio on 7/19/1942. Retired as a 4th grade teacher at Homer Nash Kimball Elementary School She was a 1938 Graduate of Hiram College and sat on the Board of Trustees for Hiram College. She was a member of Central Congregational Church and served as the Superintendent of Sunday Schools and on the Board of Deacons and Deaconess. She also served on the East End YMCA Board of Directors for several years and was a member of the Madison Historical Society. She is survived by 5 Daughters, Kathy (Gary) Marks of Plymouth, MA, Tina (Ed) Hrbek of Madison, OH, Wendy (Roger) Kephart of Estero, FL, Kim (Chet) Blackey of Versailles, KY, Beth (Karl) Fiscus of Frankweiler, Germany; 12 Grandchildren, Jonathan (Joanne), J.D. (Betsy) and Robbie Marks, Todd (Alexis), Lynn (Steve) Clark, and Megan Hrbek, Ellie, Cady, Beth, and Dory Blackey, Anne and Nellie Fiscus; 2 Great Grandchildren, Maxwell Hrbek and Samuel Clark; Sister-in-law, Jean Mayhew and Brother-in-law, Duane Mayhew She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Nelson Mayhew in 2003; her parents and her sister, Elizabeth Elliott. Family will receive friends 12-1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 19, 2008, at Central Congregational Church, 71 Park Street, Madison where a Memorial Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Final Resting Place will be Fairview Cemetery in Madison, Ohio In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Central Congregational Church, 71 Park Street, Madison, OH 44057.
