Eleanor (nee Berg) McElroy

Eleanor McElroy (nee Berg), 93, of Madison, Ohio, was with her family when she passed away Saturday morning, October 24, 2015. She leaves behind her loving husband, Navy veteran Harry McElroy and daughters Donna English and Bonnie Chatto. Eleanor has 6 beloved grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many loved nieces and nephews. She joins, in God's loving care, her parents, Charles and Rose (nee Steuber) Berg; brothers Theodore and Frederick Berg; and sister Rose Purtan. Eleanor, born October 12, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio, married Harry on June 25, 1966. She was an extremely beautiful and talented woman. An artist and musician, Eleanor taught herself piano, by ear, and later learned to read music after purchasing an organ. She sang, played guitar, and soft-shoe tap-danced with her brother Fritzi. She was an incredible crafter and excelled at leatherworking, customizing and reapportioning jewelry, crotchet, and really anything imaginable. Eleanor was "Movie Star Beautiful" with piercing green eyes. A compassionate and caring matriarch, she could get her kids in line with that loving, stern look.
