Dorothy Ann (Cole) Bowker, age 83 passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011 Andover Village Retirement in Andover after a valiant battle with Alzeimer?s. She was born May 22, 1928 in Painesville, Ohio to Esther A. (Conant) & Howard L. Deming, she is the 7th great granddaughter of early Connecticut settler, John Deming from Colchester, England. She was a former supervisor at Goodwill Industries and farming. Dorothy was a lifelong area resident. She was a member of Cherry Valley First Church of God and former member of Silver Creek Assembly of God and Faith Baptist Church in Perry. Member of A.B.A.T.E. C.M.R.O. Region 13, American Legion Post #601 in Madison. She was a volunteer for Share Your Christmas, Geneva Clothing Bank and Madison Meals on Wheels. Dorothy?s love of the outdoors and motorcycles earned her the Hall of Fame honor featured in EasyRider Magazine, August 1995 issue. Deming of Perry, OH, James Wood of St. Petersburg, FL, Jack Wood of Chula Tucson, AZ, Jesse Wood of Ft. Juacha, AZ, Step-Sons, Raymond Cole Of Madison, OH, Leroy Cole Of Bardstown, KY, Garner Cole, Jr. Of Las Vegas, NV She was preceded in death by First Husband, Garner L. Cole; Second Husband, George R. Bowker; Son, Glenn Cole; Step-Daughter, Lula Klimek; Sisters, Harriet McQueary, June Wood; Brothers, Henry, Oliver, and Richard Deming. Friends will be received 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 PM on Friday, September 2, 2011 at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva, OH 44041. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the funeral home. Final Resting Place will be at Madison Memorial Cemetery in Madison. Contributions may be made to Cherry Valley First Church of God Benevolent Fund in Cherry Valley, OH.
