Born in: Painesville, OH
Resided in: Madison, OH

Donna J. Brockway, 81, of Madison, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025, due to complications from pneumonia. A longtime resident of Painesville, Donna made her home in Madison in her later years, where she continued to brighten the lives of those around her with her warmth, wit, and vibrant personality.

Donna was a woman of many passions, she was known for her boundless curiosity and the joy she found in life’s simple pleasures. In her younger years, she loved to ice skate. She had a deep affection for nature—especially birds—and would sing back to them each morning in a cheerful daily ritual that brought joy to many. She found excitement in football games, the roar of NASCAR, the fun of BINGO nights, and the escape of a good movie.

She had a lifelong love of cooking, often filling her home with delicious aromas and offering a seat at her table to anyone in need of comfort or company. She had a keen interest in quirky facts and odd bits of knowledge, always eager to learn something new. One of her deepest passions was the Spanish language, which she studied with enthusiasm and pride by labeling everything in her home with the Spanish translation. She was always willing to lend a helping hand when she could, often giving the last dollar in her purse to those in need.

Donna’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She is survived by her 8 children, 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. Her love and legacy live on in each of them.

Donna will be remembered for her kind spirit, quick wit, and deep love for those around her. Her life was one of grace, humor, and quiet strength, and she leaves behind a legacy that will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed.

Friends will be received 11 am to 12 Noon Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison with a Service immediately following at 12 Noon.
