Connie Sue (Chafin) Offi

January 23, 1948 ~ September 2, 2023
Connie Sue (Chafin) Offi, 75, of Madison, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday August 24, 2023 at RaeAnn Nursing Home in Geneva, Ohio.
Connie was born on January 23, 1948 in Whitman, West Virginia to the late Jimmy and Lilly Chafin (Hefner.) She was a 1966 graduate of Mentor High School. After graduation, she married Robert Offi on September 3, 1966.
Connie worked a variety of jobs, but found true joy in babysitting children in her home. She was not ‘just’ a babysitter; she planned events, visits with Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny and celebrated birthdays with the children she cared for as well. Connie had no children of her own but loved each of the children she babysat as if they were hers. Connie crocheted and was very good at it! She made afghans, stockings, mittens, hats and gloves. She was very talented.
Connie leaves behind a brother, James Chafin III of Rock Creek, Ohio, as well as two nieces and nephews. Amy (Wayne) Lyons of Racine, Ohio and Bill Brothers of Rutland, Ohio, Michele (Jerry) Krieg of Geneva, Ohio and James Chafin IV of Boardman, Ohio, as well as step sisters Sue Hefner Kidd, Kim Hefner Calore and Pam Hefner Tillema. Connie also leaves behind many that she claimed as grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She loved every child with which she built a relationship. She will be missed by many.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Candace Tillis, late husband Robert Offi, sister-in-law of over 50 years, Sandra Ann (Vanover) Chafin and long time and loving companion, Ira Holbrooks.
