Chuck Von Hof, age 54, of Mentor, Ohio, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Hillcrest Hospital. He was born June 13, 1963 in Willoughby, Ohio to Louis Von Hof and Natalie (Barber) Von Hof.
Chuck graduated from Mentor High School, and held an Associates Degree from Ohio State University. He worked as a propagator at several local nurseries.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; daughter, Heather Von Hof; parents, Chuck and Natalie; siblings, Lynn (Dave) Roberti, Dennis (Frankie) Von Hof, Laura Graef, Donna (Brian) Wright, Mary Lane, and Joseph Von Hof; father-in-law, John Tozzi; and his dog, Skippy.

Heather, Donna and to the rest of his family. Chuck was always the smile at the end of the day and touched so many hearts throughout his lifetime. Gone way too soon! In no way can he ever be replaced. Heather…your dad loved you so much and you were the twinkle in his eye! I know you're all hurting and take the time to grieve and remember all the good Chuck was. He will always be with you in your memories and your hearts. He will not be forgotten by anyone that knew him. I know heaven will be even a better place with him there! I did not know Chuck as well as most, but from what I did no he was well liked and the nursery industry has lost a friend! May God bless and keep you until we meet again.
So so sorry to hear of your lose. I spent my first year in this country working with Chuck. He was a great plant propagator and such a good person. I am sure he will be sorely missed by all.

We haven't talked in many years, but I wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss.
I worked for Chuck one summer in 1988 at Warner Nurseries. I learned a lot from him during those summer months.
He was just a little older than I am and helped to keep me out of trouble that summer… the summer after my senior year in high school.
I also lifted weights with him a few times at Ballys.
He was one strong dude!

Sad to hear about Chuck's passing. The times I spoke to him over the years about help with Latino nursery workers, he was always so helpful and nice. Our sincere condolences to his family on behalf of all of us at HOLA.
