Catherine Jean Berta

Catherine Jean Berta, age 86, of Madison, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township. She was born September 4, 1927 in Madison to Katherine (Foster) & Joseph Berta. Catherine was employed by Harvey Hubbell, Inc. from May 1979 to September 1992 when she retired. Catherine played women's semi-pro softball in her 20's and 30's, traveling all over the United States. She enjoyed bowling with her girlfriends at North Ridge Lanes in Madison, and watching ALL the Cleveland sports teams. Though Catherine never married or had children of her own, she was always there for her nieces, nephews, great-nieces & nephews and great-great nieces & nephews. She was independent her entire life. Catherine was a loving, caring and very proud woman. She is survived by her sisters, Nancy Quickle and Sandra Blasko; nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George, Clarence, Joseph, Richard, John and Bill Berta; sisters, Dorothy Bushnell, Gertrude Berta and Barbara Spence.
