Carol E. Hamburg

Carol E. Hamburg, of North Madison, Ohio, formerly of Mentor, passed away peacefully March 23, 2019, surrounded by her loving family at her home. She born born April 20, 1943, in Cleveland, to the late Gertrude (Sharpe) and Louis Melamed. She was the beloved wife of David Hamburg for over 22 years. Carol will forever be remembered by her devoted daughters, Joanne Mikolic and Lynnette Prokop, treasured grandchildren Connor and Alayna Prokop. She was preceded in death by her loving sister, Maxine Louis. Carol was a 1961 graduate of Cleveland Heights High School and a long time resident of North Madison, Ohio. Carol was very active in her local community and supported her local Fire and Police Departments. She enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns Football and Cleveland Indians and she also enjoyed the beaches of Lake Erie. She enjoyed music, socializing, meeting people and family time. She will be remembered as a strong, hardworking and loving woman that cared immensely for her family and will be greatly missed. Family will receive friends Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 5 to 7 PM at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St. Madison, OH, 44057. A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation at 7 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Neal May officiating.
