Calvin E. Birman, age 67, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Born January 6, 1948 in Andover, he was the son of Larry Yarberry and Doris Henderson. He married Stefani Staschiak on February 9, 1982. Cal served in the U.S. Air Force 1967 -1970. He was stationed at Clark AFB in the Philippines and Com Rohn Bay in Vietnam. Since 1975, he has worked as a foreman for Morton Salt and was a proud member of the Mine Rescue Team. Cal was also a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Madison and was a 2nd Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He was active in AA and celebrated 34 years of uninterrupted sobriety. Cal enjoyed life to the fullest with no regrets and always encouraged everyone to love, live and be positive. He always enjoyed time with his family and was proud of their achievements. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Stefani; sons, Jimmy Garren of Pennsylvania, Scott (Ashley) Row of Harpersfield, Eric (Lisa) Birman of Leroy Township, Jamie Row of Geneva, Thomas Birman of Madison, Nicholas (Jenny) Row of Ashtabula, Phillip (Jessica) Birman of Painesville Township; grandchildren, Katarina, Helena, Alexis, Dylan, Aaron, Juliana, Connor, Clayton, Alexis, Tommy, and Payton; one great-grandchild, and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Friends will be received 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 23, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Church, 2846 Hubbard Road in Madison. Rev. John Schneider will be officiating.
