Born in: Ayler, MA
Resided in: Geneva, OH

Beverly Rose Cigany, affectionately known to everyone as “Mema,” passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026 at the age of 86. Born on August 8, 1939, in Ayer, Massachusetts, to the late Florence and Russell Jarvis.

She spent her childhood in Massachusetts, where she met her late husband James Bartoroni, who was serving in the United States Army at Fort Devens. They also spent some time at Fort Bragg North Carolina & in Mather Pennsylvania, where her late husband Jimmy was from and had two daughters, Kathleen & Pamela. Together the family moved to Bedford Ohio where they raised their two daughters, Kathy and Pam. Later in life, Beverly married late husband, Thomas Cigany and they moved to Geneva, Ohio.

Mema was a woman of simple pleasures and a legendary sweet tooth. She was rarely seen without a Diet Pepsi in hand and had a particular fondness for dry rye toast. Though she managed diabetes for many years, she was famously known for the “secret” stash of candy bars and sweets she kept tucked away—a testament to her stubborn, joyful nature. Some of her fondest memories in her later years were the trips she took to Las Vegas Nevada, where she married her late husband Tom, Niagara Falls Canada & Erie Pennsylvania, where they enjoyed the excitement of the casinos together with friends & family.

While Beverly was a devoted mother, her heart truly belonged to her grandchildren and, eventually, her seven great-grandchildren. She found her greatest joy in being “Mema,” serving as the matriarch who tied the family together with her humor and wit.

Beverly is survived by her daughters, Kathy (David) Depp and Pam (Thomas) Win; a sister, Pamela Regan & numerous nieces & nephews from Massachusetts. She was the proud grandmother of Jacob (Sarah) Depp, Zachary (Maggie) Depp, Becky (Corey) Johnson, Sarah (Shane) DeFranco, Emily Win, Elizabeth Win, and Bennett (Kate) Win. Her legacy continues through her seven great-grandchildren: Amelia, Madelyn, Grant, Hope, Andrew, Reagan, and Lincoln.

The family would like to send out a Heartfelt “Thank You” to the hard-working staff at the UH Geneva Medical Center, especially the Nurses & staff at the Siedman Cancer Center! In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Beverly’s name to University Hospital of Geneva Medical Center (www.uhgiving.org) where she spent her last 5+ years in the outpatient Oncology department.

Friends will be received 4-7 pm Thursday, January 15th at Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 South Broadway in Geneva. Funeral will take place at 11 am on Friday, January 16th at the funeral home. Final Resting place will be at Harpersfield Cemetery. Online obituary and guestbook at www.behmfuneral.com

  1. My favorite memory is going to Las Vegas for her wedding with Tom. What fun we had going to Chapel to Chapel to find the right one to get married in.
