Betty E. Tackett Carter

Betty E. Tackett Carter, age 81, of Ashtabula passed away Friday, January 8, 2016 at Austinburg Nursing and Rehab Center. Born September 4, 1934, she was the daughter of Lena (Mitchum) and Ernest Vereno. She married Northern Tackett in 1951. After he passed away in 1977, Betty later married Lee Carter on May 18, 1979 in Ashtabula. She was a supervisor at Molded Fiberglass and had also worked at Acme Scrap Iron and Metal. Betty enjoyed reading, camping, fishing and working in her flower garden. Betty is survived by her sons: Roger (Nancy) Tackett, Randy (Joni) Tackett; daughter-in-law Paula Tackett all of Ashtabula; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers: Norman (Judy) Hare of Ashtabula, Virgil (Carol) Hare of Tennessee and Ralph (Diane) Hare, Jr. of Florida. She was preceded in death by her first husband: Northern Tackett; second husband: Leland Carter; son: Larry Tackett; her parents; step-father: Ralph Hare Sr., sisters: Trudy Hare and Leora Hunt; brother: Raymond Hare; and daughter-in-law: Rachel Tackett. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the funeral home with an additional visitation for one hour prior to the service.
