The steps we must take to finalize our loved ones life are never welcome. For us we had to follow through for an entire family of 4 in a 7 year time frame. What a blessing we had the incredible staff at “Behm” funeral home of Madison! We are so grateful for John Merk who went above and beyond for each of our services and did so with such compassion and such attention to every detail! Truly, the entire staff are top notch! Behm Funeral Home was wonderful in helping with my Mother’s cremation. They were very supportive and understanding. They went above and beyond to make sure my family and my Mother were treated with dignity and respect. They also handled all of the insurance items for us which was great to not have to worry about. What a professional organization. From the very first consultation, past the phone call at the time of need all the way thru the final goodbye this group of professionals gave us their very best. Our funeral director was Stephanie She was caring, compassionate and certainly made our grief more bearable. During the initial visit with our lost loved one, Stephanie overheard a conversation about how much our parents loved Polka Music. When it was time to bring our elderly mother to say her final goodbye to our Dad, Polka Music was playing. Although grief stricken, our Mom was taping her toes an nodding her head to the beat of the Polka Music. What a great personal touch.

My grandmother passed unexpectedly in 2010, and we were out of town. Behm handled all our frantic phone calls upon being notified of her death. They told us originally it was not a good idea to see her (she passed of a heart attack, and fell face first), but upon hearing how important it was for my mother to see her, they worked tirelessly upon our arrival & called us to let us know we could come see her. They did a beautiful job on her and gave us a little bit of closure we needed.

Throughout the process of handling the cremation, burial of ashes, they were so incredibly patient & wonderful. You could not ask for a better staff than this one. Now that I'm working to get her headstone taken care of, they again have been amazing!

The loss of our Grandmother was a very hard one for our family, but Behm's truly made this process as easy as possible so we could focus on remembering our Granny & memorializing her properly. Thanks Behm's!

I have relied on Behm twice now - each time for very different needs. It was a relief to work with Trevor and John under both circumstances. They took the time to walk through each and every aspect, were in constant contact, made sure any questions were answered, and that our needs and wishes were met. They went above and beyond at every stage of the process - listening, offering support, and even taking the time to reach back out afterward to check in on me my family. The entire team is extremely professional, knowledgable, compassionate, and exceeded my expectations. I appreciate the level of service they provide and plan to consult them again if/when needed. Highly recommend.

During a very difficult and unexpected loss myself and my family had an Excellent experience with everyone at Behm. We are very grateful to them for all the help with last minute arrangements . The prices were very good and our loved one was well taken care of and presented to all of us with caring and warmth for our goodbyes . The Behm Family Funeral Home helped my family through one of our most difficult times in life, the loss of a beloved parent. Burying a loved one is never easy, but the Behm Family funeral home staff was kind, understanding and patient. They walked us through everything aspect of our funeral. They made sure that our most difficult day went off without a hitch, ensuring that everything was perfect. This was my first time actually making the arrangements for a funeral. John was very calming and comforting helping us plan the service. I can’t recommend them enough. I definitely give them 6 stars out of 5. Every staff member treated us like family. They laughed with us and cried with us.

Behm Family Funeral Homes get six stars out of five. My dad, a 98 year-old WWII veteran, passed away on the 16th of January, 2023. The incredible owners and staff went overboard in helping take care of services and the burial that took place on the 20th of January. They took care of every detail and more. When they initially contacted Painesville City to coordinate burial in Riverside there was a problem with some paperwork from decades ago. They handled this with professionalism and maintained contact with the city and our family until the problem was solved. They also helped with other details related to the death certificate and notification of authorities, including the Social Security Administration. They helped arrange for military honors with the local team from the American Legion and VFW. It went extraordinarily smoothly and professionally, including the teamwork with the active duty Navy team that came in from out of town. The graveside service that was conducted in cold and snowy weather went smoothly.
Trevor Behm spearheaded the effort and I cannot say enough about his professionalism. Outstanding service. Thank you to the entire team.
