Myrna L. Bittner

Myrna L. Bittner, age 86 of Andover, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025 at David Simpson Hospice House. She was born February 19, 1939 in Murray City, OH to Gerald and Clarice (Phillips) Bittner.
Myrna worked as Dispatcher/Supervisor for the Ohio Motorist Association (AAA) where she worked for 30 years. She served as a Sunday School Teacher at Erie Side Church in Eastlake. She was the Publicity Chairman for Cub Scout Troop #185 and was a Room Mother at Thomas Edison Elementary School in Willoughby. She attended Bulah Calvary Methodist Church, where she was a Trustee, Sunday school teacher, and a member of the United Methodist Women. She belonged to the American Business Women’s Association, where she assisted with scholarships for school children. Myrna was also a member of the Red Hat Society and she enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening in her spare time. At the Ashtabula County Fair, she received several Best of Show and First Place ribbons for her flowers, vegetables and canned goods.
She is survived by her daughter, Myrna Jo (Ray) Link; sons, Gerald (Susan) Joe Thrower, John William (Lina Iverson) Thrower, James Lee (Cindy Courson) Thrower, Jason (Sue) Albert Thrower, Jeffrey E. (Brenda) Thrower; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandsons, Gerald Joe and Johnny Thrower; granddaughter, Jaime Thrower; brothers, Bob and Jack Bittner; sister, Judy Robson; partner, Louis F. Bernard.
