James Novotny

James Novotny, age 83, of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away on May 13, 2023 at the David Simpson Hospice House. He was born June 2, 1939 in Uniontown, PA, the son of Albert and Irene (Booterbaugh) Novotny. James married Sandy Swartz in McKeesport, PA on October 8, 1960. James proudly served in the US Navy for four years before settling in the Ashtabula area with his beloved wife, Sandy. James loved to golf, fish and was the ultimate handyman around the house.  He most loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and often reminisced about vacations and road trips as some of his fondest memories. He is survived by his sons, Jim Novotny of Mooresville, NC., Todd (Melisa) Novotny of Frisco, TX., and Brian (Kelley Milam) Novotny of Geneva, OH; grandchildren, Morgan, Victoria, Jacob; great-grandchildren, Liam, Lennon; and brother, Gerald Novotny. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandy Novotny. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Assumption Catholic Church, 594 West Main Street in Geneva.  Fr.
