Sheldon James Airwyke

Sheldon James Airwyke, age 82, of Perry, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023. He was born March 30, 1941 in Painesville to William and Rachel (Headley) Airwyke.   Sheldon was raised on Blackmore Road in quiet Perry, on a small farm with chicken and geese. He retired from Ohio Rubber after 33 years, and started a small hauling business along the way. Sheldon enjoyed working on heavy equipment and small engine repairs, and listening to country and bluegrass music.   He is survived by his children, Susan Airwyke, Blaine (Susan) Airwyke; 8 grandchildren; sister, Lona Long; sister-in-law, Judy Airwyke. Sheldon was preceded in death by his son, James Airwyke: parents William and Rachel; sister, Zora Airwyke; brothers, William and Lyle Airwyke; and his girlfriend, Joanne Osborne.   A graveside service will be at 1pm, Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Perry Cemetery on Center Road.
