Janet Marie Peine

July 1, 1953 ~ January 23, 2023
Janet Marie Peine, age 69 of Thompson, Ohio passed on January 23, 2023, at home surrounded by her loved ones. Born on July 1, 1953 to Ellis and Louise Chapman she was a stay-at-home mom, marrying her high school sweetheart Allen Peine Sr. In 1971, to the song of Nights in White Satin by the Moody Blues. Janet had a love of anything arts and crafts and was known for her ability to sew for hours. She was never seen without a lottery ticket (once winning big) or a can of Pepsi and was an avid fan of Bingo. She loved everything Buckeyes as she was so proud of two of her granddaughters (Kristin and Alyssa) graduating from Ohio State and another granddaughter (Brittany) graduating this year. She loved music and all of her loved ones have a favorite song they remember her playing. Her love of the holidays was infamous and she passed down many traditions to her family, like her Thanksgiving stuffing, her love of birthday cake from her favorite Gartman’s Bakery and Christmas trees galore. The Great Geauga County Fair will not be the same without her. But by far, she will be remembered most for the love she had for her grandchildren, whether it be playing cards or watching movies with them. She will be forever missed and in our hearts.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Allen Peine Sr. who took devoted care of her for the last two years; daughter, Kimberly Baynes (Shawn), son, Allen Peine Jr. (Linda) and daughter, Heather Light; grandchildren, Kristin Willson (Kevin), Ryan Willson, Alyssa Baynes, Hunter Peine, Cassie Babos, AJ Babos, Brittany Light, Breanna Light, Matthew Light, Megan Light, Bud Light, along with all the fur babies.
She is preceded in death by her father Ellis and mother Louise, her beloved Brother Donald Chapman Sr. and her favorite nephew Donald Chapman Jr. (Donny).
Friends will be received 2-4 pm Friday, January 27, 2023 at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. Online obituary and condolences may be viewed at www.behmfuneral.com

Grandma, I loved you unconditionally and still do. You were by far my favorite person in this world. Our love could never be measured there was too much of it. I took care of you and made sure you were comfortable and safe and I would do it all over again if I had the opportunity. You brought me so much joy and I know even on your sick days my presence made you happy. I love you more than it can ever be described. I will see you when it’s my turn until watch over me my beautiful angel.
