Malvina Schwartfigure, age 93, of Harpersfield, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021 at UH Geneva Medical Center. She was born August 24, 1927 in Cleveland, the daughter of Louis and Ellen Takacs.
Malvina worked as an artist for the Cleveland Free Press. All the kids called her “Ma” even the kids in the neighborhood. She was a good-hearted woman who took people in. She was well known for her smiley faces. She liked them so much that for her 80th birthday she even got a tattoo of a “smiley face” because “she wanted to go to Heaven with a smile!”
She is survived by her daughter Nancy Germain; sons, Donald (Martha), Thomas (Christine), and George Schwartfigure; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred in 1971; sisters, Eleanor and Marion; brothers, Louis, Eddy and Eugene.
Friends will be received 11 am to 12 Noon, Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 South Broadway in Geneva with a Service immediately following officiated by Father Daniel Finnerty of Assumption Catholic Church. Guests are required to follow current pandemic guidelines, wear masks and practice social distancing. Final Resting Place will be Evergreen Cemetery in Geneva.
