Lorna Lee (Hughes) Marble, age 94 of Madison, passed away peacefully from this life on Saturday, May 1, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Born September 29, 1926 in Conneaut she was the daughter of Isabelle and Ira Hughes. She graduated from Harvey High School in Painesville before earning her pilot license. She married Charles Albert Marble (deceased July, 1968,) began their family and moved to Madison where they lived the remainder of their days. Employed as an Executive Secretary, she worked at the Ohio Soil Conservation Service and retired from the Fasson Division of Avery Dennison where she also enjoyed time with co-workers on the Women’s Golf League.
Lorna’s talents were many and the arts played a large part of her life. She played piano, organ, violin, and saxophone. She sang in choirs at the First Baptist Church, Painesville Women’s Chorus and the Madison Chorale. Needlework, dressmaking, sketching, photography, and painting were some of her passions she shared with all.
Lorna is survived by her children: Nancy (Thomas) Ward of Madison, Diane Marble of Ashtabula, Frank (Carmella) Marble of Belgrade, MT, and Penny (Dale) Martin of Madison; 14 grandchildren: Joy, Jodi, Mandy, Nicci, Courtney, Stacey, Stephen, Kevin, Saumara, Daryk, Kyra, Sharaya, Joshua, and Jennifer; 36 great grandchildren: Ashley, Brady, Christian, Cody, RJ, Brooke, Aiden, Sean, JC, Arianna, Clark, Joseph, Jeremiah, Justin, Alannah, Morgan, Landon, Addison, Tristan, Mya, Zoey, Morgan, Kayd, Trinity, Quinlynn, Qorbin, Kallyn, Liam, Ayahna, Zachary, Louella, Rowan, Torbin, Cayden, Chloe, and Jocelyn; 4 great great grandchildren: Kaylee, Hailee, Cadence, and Adalynne.
Friends and family will be received from 5:00 to 8:00pm on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. Funeral Service will take place at 10:00am on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at the funeral home. Guests are required to follow current pandemic guidelines, wear masks and practice social distancing.
