James J. Mazzeo, age 69, of Madison, Ohio passed away surrounded by family on July 11, 2018, at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Euclid. He was born on October 26, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Angeline Gloria (Brake) and Albert Richard Mazzeo. Jim married Becky Miller on May 19, 1973 in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
Jim was a graduate of Brush High School, attended Kent State University, and was a member of the Army National Guard. He retired in 2010 from Mentor High School as a Tech Prep Teacher in Automotive Service Technology. Recently, Jim was employed at Walker Printing in Mentor as Head of Maintenance. He attended church at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Madison. Spending time with family and friends was important to him, especially at the family cottage in Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio. Above all, he had a true passion for helping others and was known as the guy to call if you had a problem, whether fixing cars or diagnosing whatever else may need repair. Often giving specific instructions over the phone, he might jokingly end the conversation with just get rid of it.
Jim is survived by his wife, Rebecca Ann Mazzeo; children, Kristin (Keith) Barron, Peter and Gary; grandson, Giovanni Barron; brothers, Albert (Katy) Mazzeo; Gary (Leslie Sobey) Mazzeo and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m., Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison, Ohio.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 16, 2018 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 3050 McMackin Rd., Madison, Ohio. Final resting place will be at Fairview Cemetery.
