Alma Louise Choby

Alma Louise Choby, age 88, of Irwin, PA passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Symphony of Mentor, Ohio. She was born July 6, 1929 the daughter of Ellen (Keam) and Charles B. Crawford. Alma married Edward James Choby on October 29, 1951 in Homestead, PA.
Alma graduated from the Homestead Hospital School of Nursing. She served as a nurse in the U.S. Air Force stationed at Maxell Air Force Base during the Korean Conflict. Alma enjoyed traveling the world with her husband. She was a founding member of the Norwin Christian Church in Irwin, PA where she and her family have been active members.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen (Joel) Kneisley of Perry, OH, Beth (Ken) Long of Bakersfield, CA; sons, Scott (Cathy) Choby of N. Huntington, PA, Eric (Cathy) Choby of Concord, OH; daughter-in-law, Michelle Choby of Hempfield, PA; 22 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and sister, Ruth Elaine Gemeinhart of Grayson, KY. Alma was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Keith Choby and sister; Ellen Jane Halko of Munhall, PA.
Friends will be received from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on October 21, 2017 at Norwin Christian Church, Barnes Lake Rd., Irwin, PA 15642. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Final resting place will be Union Cemetery in Irwin.
