Edith J. Cortright

February 13, 1933 ~ February 19, 2018
Edith J. Cortright, 85, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 while at home with her family. She was born in New Lyme, Ohio, February 13, 1933, to Joseph and Rose (Horvath) Phillips. Edith married her love, Manson Cortright, in December 1952.
Edith was a devout Christian and member of Bible Baptist Church in Madison. She was a self-taught musician who loved playing the piano and organ, both at church and at home, and there are many fond family memories of joyful sing-a-longs while gathered around the piano. She enjoyed reading books from the library and appreciated Cleveland sports…especially when her teams won. Working side by side with her husband, she was always a hard worker.
Edith is survived by her husband of 65 years, Manson; children, Debra (Robert) Norris, Darlene (Robert) Kubilis, Denise Cavender, Daniel Cortright, Damon Cortright; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and sister Fran (Chuck) Rought. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Deidre Reznak; son David Cortright; grandson, Mark Norris; parents; sister, Catherine Balla; brother, Joe Phillips; and son-in-law, James Cavender.
Funeral service will be celebrated by Pastor Mike Edwards, 11am Monday, February 26, 2018, at Bible Baptist Church, 5819 West Chapel Rd. Madison OH 44057. Friends may call one hour prior, from 10-11am, at church. Final resting place will be Rome cemetery.

I was thinking of Edith today. I cannot think of one time when I saw her that she didn't tell me 1) that she loved me and 2) she was praying for me and my family. I will really miss her. I'm praying for all of you in the days to come
