Gary D. Cantrell, age 66, of Geneva, Ohio passed away after a brief illness at home surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, October 30, 2017. He was born July 11, 1951 in Jolo, West Virginia to Alexander and Reathia Jane (York) Cantrell. He married Josephine A. Lentz on November 12, 2010 in Ashtabula.
Gary was a 1969 graduate of Perry High School. He was an Inspector and Machine Operator at TRW, Valve Division. Garys primary concern was his family. He especially loved caring for his wife and watching cartoons with the kids. He enjoyed woodworking, building birdhouses, and collecting models. He attended the Geneva United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine; children, Travis (Amy) Cantrell, Clint (Krystal) Cantrell, Melissa Cantrell, Shelley (Chad) Chess; grandchildren, Anna Chess, Richelle (Nic) Romero, Heather Anderson, Molly Anderson, Colton Cantrell, Derek Cantrell, Carysa Cantrell, Austin Clark, Ryan Clark, Shay Theil, Chelsea Cantrell, Jacob Cantrell, Caleb Cantrell; great-grandchildren, Chase Cantrell, Nevaeh Cantrell; siblings, Roger (Sue) Cantrell, Jerry (Anna) Cantrell, Steve (Diane) Cantrell, Terry (Frances) Cantrell, Sue (Randy) Morris; and step-mother, Pat Cantrell. He was preceded in death by his parents and loving step-grandma, Mary Sarver.
Friends will be received 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 3 – 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

your loved Josie, Sue & Randy, So sorry the loss of your loved one, Gary, he was quite the character. He was such a good guy. When i was up there visiting, I always enjoyed visiting with him, always made me laugh. Heaven will mot be quiet now, the way he saws logs with his snoring. Im sure he will be all ur little angel (?) watching over ya'll to keep u straight.
