The Lord released our beloved Husband and Father, William Ball, from his suffering to eternal peace, love and happiness on Saturday, October 26, 2013. He was surrounded by his family who will miss and love him dearly. A resident of Geneva, Bill was born September 23, 1931 in Flemington, W.VA., the son of Alice (Bland) & Harold E. Ball. He later married Gayle Piantanida in Cherry Valley, Ohio on January 28, 1956. Bill was proud of his service to our country during Korea serving in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. He was an inspector at Reliance Electric for many years before retiring in 1987. He also worked in maintenance for Geneva Area City Schools. A member of Assumption Catholic Church in Geneva, as well as the Knights of Columbus, Geneva/ Madison Council #5286. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2243. Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gayle Ball, 6 Children: Karen (Ron) Carimi, Koreen Ball, Connie (Deronda) Strickland, Laurie (Ron) Donatone, Bill (Jenny) Ball, and James (Sue) Ball, 16 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren, 3 Sisters: Delores (Burl) Moore, Mary (Lee) Daubenspeck, and Joyce Walters, 2 Brothers: Gorden (Dale) Ball, and Fred Burtt. He was preceded in Death by his Grandson, Jason Von Craine, Mother Alice (Walter) Burtt and Father Harold Ball, Brothers, Ray Ball and William Burtt as well as his Sister, Ellen Bullis. Friends will be received: 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Assumption Catholic Church, 594 West Main Street, Geneva. Rev. Melvin Rusnak will officiate the service. Military honors will be observed at Evergreen Cemetery in Geneva following the funeral mass.
