Merle A. Billington

Funeral services for Merle A. Billington, age 89, of Madison, will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sep. 7, 2007, at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26 River St., Madison.
Mr. Billington died Friday, Aug. 31, at Cardinal Woods Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Madison.
Born May 26, 1918, in Painesville, to Susie Joyce (Bliss) and Ralph Paul Billington, he married Louanna Olloman at Geneva Baptist in Geneva on Feb. 22, 1941.
He was a member of Central Congregational Church and a former member of Park United Methodist Church. He was a past president of Madison Kiwanis Club, a member of Madison Village Council for 10 years, and a Scout Master. He served in the Civil Services and Pearl Harbor for two years and in California for two years.
Mr. Billington worked from 1946 until his retirement in 1984 at Euclid Electric and Manufacturing Corp/Harvey Hubbel Corp.
Survivors are his wife of 66 years, Louanna Billington of Madison; son, Jeffrey H. (Kay) Billington of Concord; granddaughter, Bethany (Wayne) Burgess of West Palm, Fla.; and grandsons, Bruce Billington of Rochester, Minn. and Bryan Billington of Washington, D.C.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jon D. Billington and his parents.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Stephen Broache of Central Congregational Church will officiate services. Final resting place will be Fairview Cemetery in Madison.
