Paul J. Robison

Paul J. Robison, Age 98, of Thompson, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at home. Born February 11, 1911 in Thompson to Elizabeth (Buckley) & Willis Robison, he married Ruth Gerbasi in Garfield Heights, Ohio on September 4, 1940. Founder of Paul Robison & Co. in Thompson Paul was a member of St. Patrick?s Catholic Church and a graduate of Thompson High School. He worked for B.G. Crandall Co. as the service manager for several years and in 1945 founded Paul Robison & Co. retiring in 1976. Paul started with the Thompson Fire Department in 1927 and from 1941-2007 he served as the Fire Chief, making him the longest active fire chief in the United States. He was active in the Geauga County Chiefs Association. He was an avid supporter of the Ledgemont Schools and enjoyed Ledgemont sporting events. Paul loved the Thompson community and was always there to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and the many years he had with his wife, Ruth. He is survived by son, Paul ?Danny? (Carolyn) Robison of Thompson; 2 Grandchildren, P.J. (Rachel) Robison of Thompson & Kim Roth of Thompson; 2 Great-Grandchildren, Jonathan Babic & Jayeson (Melissa) Babic; 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren, Emma & Jackson He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth in 2009; Parents Friends will be received 2-4:00 & 7-9:00 pm, Friday, January 29, 2010, at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Saturday, January 30, 2010 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 16550 Rock Creek Rd., Thompson, Ohio with Rev. Paul Smith officiating.
