Marion Elizabeth "Betty" Heath

Heath, Marion Elizabeth (Betty), nee Allen passed away on Feb. 11, 2015, at the age of 91 at the Keuka Comfort Care Home in Penn Yan, NY after a brave battle with cancer. Betty was born on July 11, 1923 in Erie, PA, but spent much of her life in Lakewood, OH, where she was an active member of the Lakewood Presbyterian Church, playing in the bell choir and serving on the library committee. At the age of 59, she moved to Bay Village, OH, and became a beloved Montessori teacher until her retirement six years later. She moved to the Legacy at the Fairways in Victor, NY in 2008 to be closer to family. There she was fondly known as "Betty from Ohio", sang in the choir, attended many social functions, and knew most of the residents by name. She is survived by her sister Mary Lou Lamb of Rocky River, OH, four children Nancy (Larry) Shover of Delhi, IA, Patti Mast of Apex, NC, Marilyn (Doug) Geckeler of Columbus, OH, Allen (Lianne) Heath of Victor, NY, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends. Friends will be received 10-11a.m., Saturday, July 11, 2015 at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio. A celebration of Betty's life will follow at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Dr. James C. Butler will be officiating. Final Resting Place will be Fairview Cemetery in Madison, Ohio. Her family would particularly like to thank and acknowledge Dr. Philip Meaker, Comfort Keepers, and the volunteers at Keuka Comfort Care Home for the care they provided to Betty.
