Ferdinand J. DiMarino, 78, of Geneva, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2008 University Hospitals Geneva Medical Center.
He was born December 10, 1930 in Mahony, Pennsylvania, to Mary (Polidore) & Nunzio DiMarino and married Ione Waters on March 10, 1951 in Solon, Ohio.
He formerly was a Business Agent for Roofer?s Local #44.
He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking and baking, wine making, gardening and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ione DiMarino of Geneva;
4 Daughters, Darlene Cardenas of Berea, Patricia (Kevin) Kovacs of Andover, Mary Ann (Duane) Hook of Austinburg, Gina (Daniel) Knapp of Geneva; Son, Anthony (Robin) DiMarino of Chandler, AZ; 10 Grandchildren;
5 Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters, Lydia (Ralph) Fotia of Maple Heights & Olga Boscarello of Strongsville;
Brother Albert (Maryjean) DiMarino of North Olmstead.
He was preceded in death by his Parents; Grandson, James Ray Kovacs;
Brother, Edward & Sister, Beatrice.
Friends will be received 2-4:00 & 7-8:00 pm, Monday, December 22, 2008, at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva, Ohio. Funeral Service will follow at 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
I'm sorry for your loss, I truly admired Freddie, he was as tough as nails and as fair as a man could be. my heart is saddened, he shaped me into the man I am today and I am thankful I got to know him.
