Dorothy Ann Peterson, Age 88, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012 Lantern of Madison. She was a longtime resident of Leroy Twp., moving to Madison 20 years ago. Born September 14, 1924 in Cleveland to Rose (Turk) & John Zaitz Marriage Information: Dorothy married Jack Peterson in Cleveland, Ohio on April 11, 1942 Memberships and Affiliations: Dorothy retired from Bailey Meter as an Electrical assembler. She also worked at Chase Brass in Euclid during World War II, General Electric in Cleveland and Upson Machinery in Painesville, Ohio. Dorothy had been a past secretary of the AMLA of Leroy. She was a past member of St. Mary's of Painesville and also attended Leroy Community Chapel and for a short time attended The Cornerstone Church of Madison. Some of Dorothy's favorite things were dancing with her husband to their favorite Polka music. Dorothy also enjoyed gatherings of family and friends, taking care of her home and yard, gardening, raking and burning leaves, picking berries, apples and cherries, making sausage with friends and taking her "one tank trips" with her friends to Niagara Falls, Canada, Wilks Barre, PA and West Virginia. She also enjoyed watching Tiger Woods and the Cleveland Indians. Dorothy will be fondly remembered for her sense of humor and beautiful smile. She was also very proud of her family and will be greatly missed by family and friends alike. The family would like to thank the staff of The Lantern of Madison Assisted Living and Hospice of the Western Reserve for all their gentle and loving care. She is survived by DaughtersJaqueline (John) Geizer of Painesville Kathleen (David) Davis of Concord Darlene (Richard) Harvey of Concord SonsJohn (Lora) Peterson of Painesville James (Pauline) Peterson of Montville Joseph (Margery) Peterson of Austinburg 22 Grandchildren, 47 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great-Grandchild Many Nieces & Nephews She was preceded in death by her Husband, Jack Peterson; Parents; Sister, Lillian Mandel; Longtime friend, Frank Mocilnikar Friends will be received 6-9 PM Friday, December 14, 2012, at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio and again 1 hour prior to the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the funeral home. Pastor Ted Tate of Family of Faith Christian Church in Fairport, Ohio will be officiating. Final Resting Place will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.
