Donald E. Gregory

Donald E. Gregory, age 88, of Madison passed away, Thursday, March 12, 2015 at UH Geneva Medical Center. Donald was born on July 23, 1926 in Hacker Valley, W.VA. To Sarah (Claypool) and Guy Gregory. He married Genevieve Hagerdon on April 19, 1947. Donald retired from True Temper after 31 years of service. He also drove a school bus for Madison Local Schools. He was proud to have served in the U.S. Navy in World War II on the 157th Braxton Transport. Donald was a member of Central Congregational Church in Madison where he served as a Deacon for many years. He also served as a Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop #55 and was a member of the Azalea Masonic Lodge in Valdosia, GA. In his past time, he enjoyed camping, traveling and working as a "gentleman farmer." Donald is survived by his 2 daughters, Kathy Kennedy of Upper St. Clair, PA; Johanna Gregory of Jeromesville, OH; son, Harry Gregory of Streetsboro, OH; daughter-in-law, Gale Smith Gregory of Simpson, NC; 5 grandchildren, Nathaniel and Kylee Kennedy, Stephanie Marhefka, Kelly Patch, Sarah Gregory; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elsie Culver of Corry, PA, Peggy Dorsey of Richwood, WA, Patsy Hameric of Albuquerque, NM; 2 brothers, Ernest L. Allen of Corry, PA, Lewis Allen of Thompson OH. He was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve Gregory, parents and son James. Friends will be received on Monday, March 16, 2015 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St. Madison OH 44057. Funeral Service will take place immediately following visitation at 4:00 pm. Pastor Rick Hughes from Central Congregational Church will be officiating. Final resting place will be at Fairview Cemetery in Madison.
