Donald K. Horner, age 88 of Geneva, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at UH Geauga Medical Center in Chardon. Born February 6, 1927 in Geneva, he was the son of the late Austa M. (Keener) & Russell S. Horner. He married June Marie Phelps in Geneva on November 3, 1951. Donald graduated from Geneva High School in 1944. He entered the Army in May of 1945 and served briefly in the Army of Occupation in Germany and as an aircraft mechanic at Fort Sill in Oklahoma. He worked for, and later owned, Horner Tractor Sales. He closed the business and retired in 1990. He had a lifelong interest in tractors, automobiles and aircraft and he held a private pilots' license at one time. He was a lifelong member of Geneva First United Methodist Church, 50-year member of Geneva Masonic Lodge #334 & Chapter #147, The Ford Fordson Collectors, The American Legion, The Ashtabula County Antique Engine Club and a life member of the National Rifle Association. Donald is survived by his daughter: Amy (Glenn Carter) Horner of Geneva; sons: David (Marilyn) Horner of Geneva, and Paul (Norma) Horner of Austinburg; Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren along with several Nieces and Nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his Wife, June M. Horner; Son, Ted M. Horner; his parents, Austa M. (Keener) & Russell S. Horner; and sister, Donna Koblitz A Graveside Service with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Harpersfield Cemetery, (State Route 307) Harpersfield Township. Contributions can be made in Donald's name to the Ashtabula County Animal Protective League, 5970 Green Road, Ashtabula, Ohio 44004
