George Larmore Stone

George Larmore Stone, age 87 of Harpersfield, passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 22, 2015. Born August 18, 1927 in Harpersfield he was the son of the late Earl O. and Nina B. (Davis) Stone. He married Clara S. Schnell on May 8, 1948. Born at the family farm house he lived his entire life in Ashtabula County. He graduated from Geneva High School in 1947 and worked on the family farm and the Rayon in Painesville where he met his wife. He continuously worked the farm with his father and then his own dairy farm in Austinburg. Over his lifetime he loved to hunt, fish, go bowling and snowmobiling, but most of all he loved working in his vineyard. George retired in 1996 from the Geneva Area City Schools after 33 years as a school bus driver. George made friends easily and enjoyed time spent with each of them. He was a great provider and always there for his children. He truly enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren along with his faithful companion Chewy. George is survived by his son: Larry of Harpersfield; daughters: Shelley Stark of Jefferson and Robin (DeWayne) Nicholes of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren: Jeffrey Stone, Jeremy (Cyndi) Park, Jennifer (Terry) Hejduk, Nikki (Nate) Nelson, Jessica (Eric) Stone; great grandchildren: Mardie and Gabriel Stone, Hagan and Turner Hejduk, Riley and Ella Park, Graham and Laura Nelson, Jasmine and Michael Hall; brother: William Stone and sister: Edna Armstrong, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Clara in 2007; his parents; brothers: Charlie, Franklin, Earl, and Ray; sisters: Dorothy Worden, Minni Alice Rocher, and Jessie Collister. The family would like to thank his caregivers: Kristie, Cindy, and Kathy for their outstanding care and compassion. Mr. Stone's family would also like to thank the staff at U. H. Homecare, Geneva Clinic and Hospice of the Western Reserve. Private family services for George will be observed.
