Mary M. Rice

Mary M. Rice, age 88, of Geneva, went to be with Jesus on Monday, August 5, 2013 at UHHS Geauga Regional Hospital in Chardon. She was born June 3, 1925 in Vanlear, KY to Lige & Phobe (Honeycutt) Bolden and married the late Ernest Rice on July 5, 1948 in Pikeville, KY. She was a loving wife and mother who loved her gospel music, reading her bible and her 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Mary was the last living of seven brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Maudie Rice of Ashtabula, Vickie Gaugh of Norwalk, OH, Brenda Pudder of Geneva, Belinda (Larry) Swartz of Amherst, OH; and sons, Roger (Patty) Rice of Vermillion, OH, Lige (Laura) Rice & Orville (Kathy) Rice both of Geneva. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Rice; daughter, Ernestine Hershberger; and her parents. Friends will be received 6-8 PM Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva, Ohio. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the funeral home. Rev. Roger Rice will be officiating. Final Resting Place will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Geneva. Contributions may be made to the family.
