Doris M. Noss

Doris M. Noss, 92, of Thompson, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday, December 4, 2015 at her home, surrounded by family. She was born on December 9, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio to Clayton M. and Elva B. (VanValkenberg) Fox. Doris graduated from Parma Schaaf High School Class of 1941 and married the love of her life Billy L. Noss on June 16, 1943 in Parma, Ohio. Doris and her husband built and operated several golf courses over the years, Hinckley Hills and Ironwood Golf Course, and for the past 32 years, Hidden Valley Golf Course in Thompson. She loved the arts, and enjoyed painting, crafts, sewing and knitting. Doris was a member of the Thompson Art Club. She is survived by her husband, Billy of 72 years; daughter's, Donna Noss, Barbara (William) Reeves and Janet (Richard) Miller; grandchildren, David, Amy and Brian Reeves and Katie (Jason) Hurd and Jeff Miller; great-grandchildren, Amelia, Caroline and Emily; and a dear sister Carol Barnard. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lloyd Fox; and a sister, Beatrice Krush. A private family service was observed.
