Raymond Ohtola

Raymond Ohtola, age 72 of Ashtabula, passed away December 25, 2015 at Mentor Woods Nursing Home in Mentor. He was born July 17, 1943 in Warren the son of Pauline Anne (Warat) and Eino Valentine Ohtola. Raymond served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam then worked as an auto mechanic for Ford Motor Company. He loved to travel and after retiring his automotive tools and uniform, he became a truck driver and machine operator for a local siding company. Raymond fancied casinos, riding motorcycles, camping and fishing. Raymond was a great handyman and would often take side jobs. He loved animals, especially dogs and dogs liked Ray. He had a large collection of Zippo lighters and could be found at diners having coffee and cigarettes. He is survived by his son, Tony Hoyt; stepson, Steve (Kelly) Soto.
