Dewey B. Short

Dewey B. Short, age 72 of Madison, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at his home. Born March 15, 1944 in Craigsville, WV, he was the son of the late Doy and Emily (Quinn) Short. Growing up in Craigsville, Dewey was a hard worker moving across the country taking on many skilled jobs. He retired as a tow motor operator from Willow Hill Industries in Willoughby. A constant jokester Dewey was always there for a good laugh. He loved fishing, reading, and Country and Blue Grass Music. He is survived by his son: James (Jill) Short of Madison; granddaughters: Katlyn of Lexington, KY, and Brittany of Madison; step grandchildren: Dannielle and Sheena McDaniels both of Madison and Ashley M. Kerby of Wickliffe; step-grandson: Cody Kerby of Madison; four step-great grandchildren; sisters: Margaret Marie Short Posey of Orlando, WV and Emily Avajean Barnett of Birch River, WV. Dewey was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Troy Edward, Doy James, and David Lee Short; sisters: Anita Bell Allen, Verna Mae Posey Short, and Bonnie June Short. Funeral Service for Dewey will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 2:00pm at Cloverfork Church, 71 Meadow Run Road, Orlando, WV 26412. The family will receive friends at the church for 2 hours prior to the service from 12 to 2pm. The burial will take place at the Short Family Cemetery immediately following the service.
