Thomas "Slash" Murnyack, Sr., age 62, of Madison, Ohio passed away Saturday, November 26, 2016 at home. He was born November 25, 1954 in Cleveland, Ohio to Shirley (Usoff) and Robert Michael Murnyack, Sr. He married Cheryl Grandia in Painesville on November 26, 2003. Thomas graduated from Mentor High School and served in the U.S. Army. He loved golfing and received his "Slash" nickname from friends in the game. He was a homebody who really enjoyed family time with his kids. He wrote good poetry. Thomas held various jobs throughout his lifetime and did the best he could to provide for his family. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; children, Thomas Alan (Marlene) Murnyack II, Danielle Murnyack, Richard Murnyack, Bradley Murnyack, Leah Murnyack, Lauren Murnyack; grandchildren, Mitchell Cupp, Taylor Cupp, Joshua Cupp, Jaxson Murnyack, Phoenix Murnyack; mother, Shirley; siblings, Robert (Mary Ann) Murnyack, James (Nancy) Murnyack, Bonnie (Christopher) Gallagher, Dennis Murnyack, Patrick Murnyack, Sharlene (Ken) Porz, and Deanna Welch. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Stephanie; and father, Robert, Sr. Friends will be received 10 a.m. 12 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2016 at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio 44057 with a service immediately following at 12:00 noon at the funeral home.
