Richard Behm Chaffe

Richard Behm Chaffe, 85, entered into rest, peacefully, the morning of January 8, 2017. He will be missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Eleanor; children Cynthia (Mark) Roshon, Robert Chaffe, Ken (Hasnah) Chaffe; grandchildren Zachary Roshon, Matthew and Jacob Chaffe; sisters Norma Starkey and June Olds. He joins his twin baby daughters; parents Lewis Norman and Iva Grace (nee Behm) Chaffe; brother Stuart Chaffe; and sister Muriel Moseley. Richard graduated from Ledgemont High School in Thompson, Ohio. For his love of country, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and fought in the Korean War. Later, in May of 1958, Richard married his true love, Eleanor, and they loved and raised a beautiful family. He provided for his family and was a proud retiree from the AT&T Phone Company. Richard enjoyed nature, reading, working with wood, and a good sunrise. Friends will be received Friday Jan. 13 from 7-9:00 p.m. at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison, Ohio 44057. Funeral service officiated by Pastor John Urvan will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14 at the funeral home. Final resting place will be Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted, Ohio.
