It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Valerie Linhart, a beloved educator and cherished member of her community, who departed this life peacefully on October 25, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on December 2, 1934, in Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania, to Cyril and Gladys (Elliot) Ivory, Valerie spent her early years surrounded by a love for learning, a passion that propelled her into a distinguished career in education.

Valerie taught English at Geneva Middle School, where she inspired countless students with her devotion to literature and the written word. Her influence extended far beyond the classroom, as she nurtured a love of reading that resonated deeply with her pupils, having a lasting impact on their lives.

Upon retiring, Valerie and husband, Jim, relocated to Bradenton, Florida, where they continued to enrich the lives of those around them by directing the community’s travel group. Her spirit of adventure and eagerness to explore the world with friends brought joy to many and exemplified her zest for life.

Valerie will be lovingly remembered by her family, including her daughter, Sandra King, and her sons, Richard (Vee) Linhart and Kenneth (Courtney) Linhart; grandchildren, Gregory King, Andrew Linhart, Brayden Linhart, Natalie Linhart, and Juni Linhart; great grandchildren, Mitchell and Avery Burgan. Valerie was preceded in death by her husband, James Linhart; grandson “RT” King; son-in-law, Theo King; and her parents, Cyril and Gladys.

A private visitation for Valerie will be held at Behm Family Funeral Home in Geneva, and her final resting place will be Evergreen Cemetery in Geneva.

In this time of mourning, may we all find solace in the love she shared and the indelible mark she left on our hearts. Valerie Anne Linhart will forever be missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire many for years to come.
