Resided in: Painesville, OH

Shirley Ann Hines (nee: Laskowski), 83, of Painesville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, July 30. She was born May 24, 1943, in Painesville, Ohio, to Joseph and Virginia (Eville) Laskowski.

Shirley was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who fiercely loved her family and bragged about them to anyone who would listen. She was the life of the party in every community she entered, arranging any event she could that included dancing, costumes, or crafts, or all of the above. She took great pride in her jobs over the years, working for years at the Painesville Lanes Bowling Alley (aka Scores) and ultimately as an executive assistant at Steris, Inc., from which she retired in 2010. After her retirement, Shirley moved with her beloved husband Dutch to Palm Harbor, Florida, living their best lives in the Sunshine State. She moved back to Painesville to the Heisley Park Senior Apartments, where she quickly built a new community of friends and was working as a Social Director, calling Bingo games and trying to teach her friends there the game of “Bunco”. She was also a member of the Fairport Senior Center.

Shirley is survived by her children, Dallas (Donna) Smith, IV, Teresa (Jeff) Trobenter, and Tina (Joe) Hart; stepson, Steven Hines; grandchildren, Chris, Katie (Jason), Kyle (Becca), Dallas V (Kara), Lexi (Eric), Joshua, Taylor, Emma, Tommy, and Daniel; great grandchildren, Jacob, Joey, Elijah, Johnny, Nicco, Lorelai, Emmett, and Collin; and her brother, Joseph (Lana) Laskowski and sister, Ginny Hambor, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Robert “Dutch” R. Hines; her parents; grandparents, Joseph and Anna Laskowski; and sisters, Joann Allen and Delores J. Watts.
