James R. Buckley

James Richard Buckley, 83, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. He was born on January 9, 1943 in Lorain, OH, to Richard and Kathleen Buckley.

James was a graduate of Lorain High School and had retired from a long career in retail management. He was also a proud veteran and had served his country in the US Air Force. James loved his Cleveland Guardians, and enjoyed many years of playing golf.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Buckley; daughters, Carleen (Richard) Pierce and Kathryne Buckley; granddaughter, Devynn Pierce; grandson, Addison (Alison) Pierce; great-grandson, Addison Pierce Jr.; great-granddaughter, Violet Pierce; brother, William (Lynda) Buckley, and many loving nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, James A. Buckley; sister, Roberta (Bobbi) Smith; half-sisters, Annetta Buckley and Geraldine Milovich; and niece, Jennifer Buckley.

Friends will be received at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2846 Hubbard Rd., Madison OH, 44057 from 10-11AM on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately after at 11AM. Final Resting Place will be at North Madison Cemetery.
