Frank Andrew Bodnar Jr.

Frank Andrew Bodnar Jr., 83, of Perry, Ohio passed away on July 3, 2026.
He was born on November 15, 1942 in Painesville, Ohio to Frank A. Bodnar, Sr. and Elizabeth J. (née Irish) Bodnar. Frank graduated from Harvey High School in 1960. He served in the Air Force until 1964, then worked as an electrician at Unger’s Coach in Madison in the 1970’s and Lubrizol for the remainder of his career. After retiring in 2000 Frank worked with his wife to support her business, Penny Lane Gift Shoppe in Perry, taking merchandise-buying trips across the country and painting cement geese.
Frank and his wife of fifty-nine years, Penny L. (née Sabo) Bodnar, lived on Townline Road in Madison for thirty-three years before moving to Perry where he and Penny remodeled and moved into his parent’s house.
He enjoyed gardening, fishing, boating, barbequing at family picnics, playing on Lubrizol’s softball team as well as coaching his son’s team, visiting casinos and spending time with family and friends. Frank also assisted family and friends with electrical work. Frank and Penny particularly enjoyed spending time with and babysitting their grandchildren.
Frank is survived by his three children: Rebecca Bodnar, Jeffrey Bodnar and Gretchen Bodnar (Dan Jekutis Jr.) as well as four grandchildren: Jaren (Trinity) Bodnar, Gavin and Melina Costello, and Eva Bodnar-Whetstone. He is also survived by two sisters: Roberta J. Sebring and Mary Hazel Anderson and many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Penny, his parents and his sister, Elizabeth J. Daly.
Frank will be buried beside Penny at Perry Township Cemetery. A graveside service will be held at Perry Township Cemetery, 3840 Middle Ridge Rd, Perry, OH 44081, on Saturday, July 11th 2026 at 12:30pm.
