Gary L. Eschenauer

Gary L. Eschenauer, age 73 of Madison, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at UH Geneva Medical Center. Born September 18, 1952 in Sandusky he was the son of the late Robert and Lois (Owen) Eschenauer. He married Joneen Roniger on November 3, 1990 in Eastlake.

Gary worked as a Maintenance Technician for Lubrizol and was a past member of the Sons of the American Legion in Madison. An avid Cleveland sports fan he loved watching Ohio State Football. Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping as well as the family trips to the Outer Banks.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joneen; son, Corey (Katie Gregory) Eschenauer; daughter, Mary (Kevin Hardy) Eschenauer; grandchildren, Owen and Valen Eschenauer and Claire Gregory; sister, Roberta Wehrmeister; and his best friend, Joe Green.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00am on Friday, May 8, 2026 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2846 Hubbard Road in Madison. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at Perry Cemetery. The Behm Family Funeral Home is assisting the family during this time.
