Fredrick Shook

Fredrick L Shook, 84, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on April 15, 2026. He was born on October 18, 1941 to William and Cora Shook in Detroit, Michigan.

Fredrick married his lovely wife, Janet, on January 5th, 1963. He worked as a flame hardener in the steel industry throughout his life, and was a faithful member of the United Church of Christ for many years. He was also involved with the Holden Arboretum for 30 years and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for 20 years. Fredrick was a member of the VFW Post 6846, where he served as auxiliary treasurer, and was a member of the American Legion Post 112.

He is survived by his wife, Janet; his children, Lee (Melissa) Shook; grandchildren, Cory (Alyx) Shook, Noelle (Cory) Muro; great-grandchildren, Hudson Muro, and Weston Muro; siblings, Jean Tyson, Mary Kump, Donald Shook, Robert Shook, and Richard Shook.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, William (Karen) Shook; grandson, Christopher Shook.

Behm Family Funeral Home is assisting the family at this time. A burial in Mechanicsville Cemetery in Austinburg will take place on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 11AM.
