Audrey May Moseley

Audrey May (Jerome) Moseley, age 97, (born May 21, 1928) of Thompson Ohio passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026. Audrey is survived by her children Carl (Kathleen) Moseley, Carol Buschur, and Catherine Moseley; grandchildren, Mark Moseley, Joshua (Malisa) Moseley, Michael (Elizabeth) Buschur and Jean Marie (Gilbert) Peraza; and 5 great grandchildren; Lillian Buschur, William Buschur, Imogen Buschur, Andrew Peraza, Catherine Peraza. Audrey is preceded in death by her husband, Howard who passed away on May 10, 2008.

Audrey was born in East Cleveland and moved to Madison for her high school years. There she met Howard at the Thompson United Methodist Church and they married on June 2, 1949, built a house, raised three kids: all while actively being involved in the community including Farm Bureau, Ledge Grange, square dancing, and maple syrup making. However, never one to settle into the norms of a dairy farmer’s wife, Audrey worked outside the home, for many years at Sears Roebuck & Co. and then retired from Geauga County Law Library after 10 years of service.

Audrey was an avid reader of all genres, especially historical fiction; she was always up for a book discussion and interested in new authors. Audrey’s sense of adventure took her and Howard to Alaska, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Canada, and across the USA. Audrey would gladly share her travel adventures and stories with all who would listen.

In the last few years Audrey’s lack of mobility may have confined her physically, but even in those last years she ventured through her books and was a model of strong will and sheer determination right up till the end of her journey here on earth. A life well lived, rest in peace Audrey!

Viewing will be from Noon to 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Behm Family Funeral Home in Madison, Ohio, with a Memorial Service to follow at 2:00 pm.
